Terhune Orchards’ peach offerings.
The Mount Family is set to host the inaugural Just Peachy Festival at Terhune Orchards.
The festival is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 3 and 4 at the orchard, 330 Cold Soil Road, Lawrenceville.
A special feature of the festival is the “Bounty of the Farm” farm-to-fork tasting section, which showcases dishes by local chef using locally sourced ingredients for visitors to sample. Terhune Orchards is partnering with Mikey Azzara of Zone 7 for this special offering.
The tasting area is be open from 12 to 4 p.m. both days. Admission to the special tasting section is $5 for adults; children age 12 and under are free.
Pam Mount is set to lead her free canning class at 10 a.m. on Aug. 3.
Terhune Orchards is also taking part in the New Jersey Peach Promotion Council’s first Perfect Peach Piecontest during the festival. The contest is open to any amateur baker and must be either a peach pie or peach cobbler. Professional chefs will judge entries at Terhune Orchards during the Just Peachy Festival. Registration is online or in person at Terhune Orchards’ Farm Store.
Other activities include tractor-drawn wagons rides through the orchard, pony rides, games and barnyard fun.
Food is set to be available for purchase at Pam’s food tent; the menu includes peach pie, peach cobbler, sliced peaches and cream and peach salsa.
Kim Rizk of Jammin’ Crepes is set to sell peach crepes at the festival.
Adults can visit the winery tasting room to sample wines, including the Just Peachy wine. Peach sangria will also be served.
