The Empower Fitness walk team waves at a previous NAMI Mercer Walk.
Empower Fitness, a women’s exercise and fitness center in Lawrenceville, is set to host a bingo party fundraiser for NAMI Mercer.
The event is scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. April 24 at Empower Fitness in the Lawrence Shopping Center, 2495 Route 1, Lawrence. The group plans to donate 100 percent of the proceeds to NAMI Mercer, an affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
Local businesses, including Carl Fisher Candy, Manhattan Bagel, Fantastic Sams, Villa Rosa Restaurant, Arbonne International, Hands for Healing Massage, ArTis’ Hands Massage and Michele Zielinski Reiki, have contributed prizes. Certified personal trainers Donna Caruso, Joan Malchow and Heather Walker have donated their services as prizes.
Tickets to the bingo party are $25 (cash or check) and must be purchased in advance. To purchase tickets for the Empower Fitness bingo party, call (609) 882-4500.
Empower Fitness owner and manager Joan Brame, who also serves as vice president of NAMI Mercer, is set to lead a team at the seventh annual NAMI Mercer Walk.
The walk is scheduled for 9 a.m. May 17 on the campus of Educational Testing Service in Princeton. The spring walk-a-thon is NAMI Mercer’s largest community outreach activity with the dual goals of fighting stigma and raising money to support its free programs for individuals and families affected by mental illness.
