Off-Broadstreet Theatre is set to present a concert series to celebrate the end of summer.
The series features three acts, including classical music, jazz piano and instrumental performances.
Mostly Motets is set to perform renaissance, classical and contemporary a cappella choral songs 8 p.m. on Aug. 31. The program includes works by Victoria, Vaughn Williams, Senfi and Clausen as well as contemporary settings of Shaker songs and spirituals.
Phil Orr Plays a Mean Jazz Piano is scheduled to perform 8 p.m. on Sept. 7. Jazz pianist Phil Orr is an internationally recognized entertainer who lives in Hopewell. His program includes boogie woogie, swing, bop, cool, samba and New Orleans funk styles.
Orr toured as an accompanist for singing icons Vic Damone and Sandler & Young and for singer-songwriter Diane Scanlon in the 1970s. He became a choral singer and performed works with New York, Los Angeles, New Jersey and Philadelphia orchestras at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and the Philadelphia Academy of Music.
The Blue Skies Quartet is set to close the series 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 8. The chamber jazz ensemble will play traditional American, jazz, blues, swing, spiritual and pop era pieces with some reference to classical forms.
The foursome features Jerry Rife on reed instruments, Danny Tobias on higher brass instruments and vocals, Pete Reichlin on lower brass instruments and bass, and Pat Mercuri on fretted string instruments.
Doors for Saturday evening concerts are set to open at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday afternoon concerts at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $20.00.
Performances are set for Off-Broadstreet Theatre, 5 South Greenwood Ave., Hopewell.
