Robert Keck (Pennington) and Sharon White (Princeton) joined Young Audiences New Jersey & Eastern Pennsylvania’s Board of Trustees in June.
Young Audiences New Jersey & Eastern Pennsylvania named three new trustees from Princeton, Pennington and Mount Laurel.
Luz Cárdenas Virilli, Robert Keck and Sharon White were welcomed to the Board of Trustees during its annual June meeting.
Robert Keck, who lives in Pennington, served on the Board of Trustees at the McCarter Theatre for the last nine years and most recently served as Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Committee.
He is the president, CEO and chief investment officer of 6800 Capital, L.L.C., where he has worked for almost 20 years in multiple strategic roles
Keck attended New York University and the American Conservatory of Music and Fine Arts in France. He is a former classical musician.
Keck said he became involved with YA because it introduces art to those who may have never experienced it
“I believe the arts can be a living changing experience and I plan to put whatever knowledge and ability I have to work for the benefit of the organization, to increase its financial support and to broaden its reach, Keck said in a statement”
Sharon White, a Princeton resident, is currently a volunteer and philanthropist. She has served on several boards including the Princeton Adult School, Passage Theatre, Princeton ProMusica and the YA 40th Anniversary Dazzle Committee.
She has experience in publishing; White served as a contributing author for math and science texts for Macmillan/McGraw Hill and sat on the editorial panel and for the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics’ Teaching Children Mathematics.
White has also worked as a math consultant and coordinator for The Little Red School House in N.Y., Brooklyn Friends School, the Far Hills Country Day School and The Willow School.
Like Keck, White is interested in YA’s mission to spread art education.
“I wanted to get involved because the arts, an essential part of education, are sometimes neglected in our educational climate,” White said in a statement. “The staff and volunteers of YA are passionate about this work and mission, I wanted to be part of this team.”
White and Keck joined the board with Luz Cárdenas of Mount Laurel.
Cárdena serves as the chair of the United States Hispanic Advocacy Association. She is also the first and only Hispanic Director of Communications to serve in Philadelphia’s City Hall history.
Founded in 1973, Young Audiences New Jersey & Eastern Pennsylvania an arts-in-education resource that aims to provide performances and artist-in-residence programs to nearly 500,000 children in pre-k through 12th grade annually.
