As a part of Pennington’s 125th anniversary celebration, the borough has organized an open house of its six churches to be held from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, April 26. The event will be followed by an ecumenical service at 6 p.m. at the Pennington Presbyterian Church.
The Open House will include a tour of the churches and information on the history of their houses of worship. Maps and tour booklets are available online or at the churches on the day of the event. Pennington’s churches have played an important role in the history and quality of life of the community. The church tour and ecumenical service are part of several events for the yearlong anniversary celebration.
Participating churches include St. James Roman Catholic Church, 115 East Delaware Ave., Pennington Presbyterian Church, 13 South Main St., Pennington United Methodist Church, 80 South Main St., First Baptist Church of Pennington, Academy Ave., Bethel AME Church, 245 South Main St., and St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 300 South Main St.
