Division Three Girls
On Saturday, HVSA D-3 Purple Pandas defeated PQM Flower Shop 7-1. HVSA Purple Pandas started the game off with a goal by Eva Giambanco, coming off a pass from Sonia Tenbarge. This score was quickly followed up as Maren Johnson crossed a pass to Amanda Flanders, for the first of her four scores. Midfield was handled very nicely by Pranathi Kummarapurugu and Juliette Saia, whose ball control helped Sonia Tenbarge score the last goal of the first half. Eva Giambanco scored the last goal of the game with a minute to go.
On Sunday, HVSA Purple Pandas tied Dick’s Sporting Goods, 1-1. The goal for HVSA was scored by Lilla Antal, as she took a pass from Amanda Flanders. The tying score came from Dick’s Sporting Goods’ Sierra Mitchell with eight minutes left to play.
On Saturday, Dick’s Sporting Goods lost to Jack’s Nursery, 3-2. Adhya Pandit and Sierra Mitchell scored for Dick’s with Sy’Rai King assisting the second goal. During Sunday’s tie to the purple team, Dick’s had great defense by Jaelyn Krin and Sy’Rai King and fantastic goaltending by Makayla Scherbeow. Sierra Mitchell scored the only goal with an assist from Gracie Cooper.
Division Three Boys
Stark and Stark and HVSA-Navy battled to a 3-3 tie on Sunday afternoon. Leading the scoring for Stark and Stark was Tommy Irvine, who had a hat trick, as did Fedia Tenbarge for HVSA-Navy. A top-notch save by Teddy Franzino of Stark and Stark late in the second half preserved the tie.
On Saturday, HVSA Green lost a hard fought game 2-5 against Pennington Quality Market. The first half ended 1-4, with a goal from Nathan Lee. In the second half, the Green team went on the attack offensively and got a goal from Darius. Goalie Jacob Brown held strong and prevented several scores.
On Sunday, HVSA Green lost another hard fought game 4-6 against HVSA Blue. Elijah Barnes and Darius Roman scored goals in the first half, and Jonathan and Luke Hemmer scored in the second half.
Division Two Girls
Dr. McDonough’s Live Wires prevailed Saturday 3-1 over Northfield Bank on the strength of three goals by Megan Kurian and excellent goal keeping by the goal keeping trio of Natalie Frush, Emery Ward and Miriam Wood. Olivia Branham scored the lone goal for the Northfield Bank Tigers.
Also on Saturday, the DeSimone Orthodontics Blue Whales played a hard fought game against Franco’s Pizza, losing 4-2. Elizabeth Buchert scored both goals for the Blue Whales and Sophia Pellegrino was a spark for many additional scoring chances.
On Sunday, Dr. McDonough’s Live Wires and DeSimone Orthodonics battled to a 1-1 draw. Jordana Gold tallied the Live Wires goal with a left footed shot that found the back of the net.
The Northfield Bank Tigers won 4-1 on Sunday. Nicole Robotti and Olivia Branham scored two goals each, while Ellie MacDonald assisted on the game winner. The Tigers defense was anchored by fullbacks Gerise Kelly and Rachel Morse and goalkeepers Kelly Hujber and Soon Pearlman.
Division Two Boys
On Sunday, Soccer Post defeated Princeton Nassau Pediatrics 4-1.
Princeton Nassau Pediatrics fought a hard battle against Rely Mechanical at Independence Field on Saturday, losing 2-1. Kaempfer Harjes and Bodhi Brown led the defensive efforts with several saves in goal throughout the game. Allen Ye scored the goal for Princeton Nassau Pediatrics.
On Sunday, Princeton Nassau Pediatrics lost 4-1 to Soccer Post. After a great offensive march down the field, Emil Rybovic scored the single goal for PNP on an exciting penalty kick.
Team HVSA-White faced Wilson-Apple Funeral Home on Saturday, winning 4-3. Chance Hutnik scored two goals. Both Samy Abdel-Mawla and Trevor LiVecchi connected on penalty kicks to put HVSA-White ahead on the scoreboard. On Sunday, Team HVSA-White lost to Horvath & Giacin, 8-1. The lone goal for Team HVSA-White came from Trevor LiVecchi on a rebound shot from Juan Geller.
Rely Mechanical defeated Princeton Nassau Pediatrics 2-1 on Saturday. John Troiano and Connor O’Boyle scored goals for Rely. On Sunday, Rely Mechanical defeated Wilson Apple Funeral Home 6-1. John Troiano, Andrew Young and Connor O’Boyle each had two goals, with assists by Ryan Fornal and Connor O’Boyle.
