DIVISION THREE BOYS
On Saturday, Stellitano defeated Carnegie Cat Clinic 2-1 for the Pre-ICL Championship.
Richie Keifer led off the scoring with a shot from 30 yards out. Not to be outdone by his brother, Eddie Keifer started a run in his own team’s penalty box and blasted the ball into the back of the Cat Clinic net. At striker, Larry Kennedy extended the Cat Clinic defense, working with a combination of Corban Ballek and Andrew Sagotsky in applying constant pressure upfront. The midfield of Vitor Fontes Nichi, Simeon DaPonte, Mike Kennedy and Oliver Licciardi helped Stellitano keep control of the game. Ben Licciardi played a strong defensive midfield, aiding the back line of Teddy Franzino and Eddie Keifer. Byrce Meccage came up big again and turned away the few shots that Cat Clinic had at goal.
Jack’s Nursery & Landscaping faced off against Ewing 3 on Saturday. Ewing 3’s goalie was strong and quick blocking many shots made by Jack’s team which went into the first half with just one goal on the board by Dominic Chila. In the second half, there were three additional goals scored for Jack’s Nursery by Mason Scall, David Sigman and Derek Van Brunt. On Sunday, Jack’s Nursery lost to DeSimone Orthodontics, 0-1. Han Kim defended the goal for Jack’s through the entire game.
DeSimone Orthodontics defeated Jack’s Nursery in the quarterfinal round of the playoffs by a score of 1-0, and moves on to the semifinals next weekend. Scoring the only goal for DeSimone was Mike Moran, on a well-placed shot late in the first half. Anchoring the defensive effort was goalie Herbert Carr, who continued to make one spectacular save after another throughout the entire game to ensure the shutout. Leading the aggressive defense was Emi Fernandez, Dylan Drift, Jacob Brown, Colin Szustakowski and Bradley Cohen, who all made several critical defensive plays to keep the opponent off the scoreboard. Running a strong midfield throughout the game to support offensive efforts was Jackson Pfau, Joshua Kohlhepp and Louis Azara, while Emerson Hoagland, Aaron Nulman and Michael Stroman kept the pressure on offense throughout the game with several close scoring opportunities.
On Saturday, the Carnegie Cat Clinic team played against Stellitano Plumbing and A/C team. Jonathan Sharma played the Goalie and blocked many goal-attempts. Miko Kubiak, Ben Veale and Nathan Lee played hard on the defense line. On the offense line the Carnegie Cat Clinic team had Victor Polverejan, Ben Decare, Dan Polverejan and JC Perez. During the first half of the game the SPAC team scored two goals. Then, during the second half of the game after a long battle Cameron Phillips passed the ball to Dan Polverejan who scored a goal for the Carnegie Cat Clinic. The final result of the game was 2-1 to the SPAC team.
DIVISION THREE GIRLS
On Saturday, the Dahlia Floral Concepts Pink Panthers lost 3-1 to Robbinsville. The game ended with a shootout, with Taylor Wert scoring for the Pink Panthers. Mia Govantes and Rose Andreski both played very strong defense for the Pink Panthers. The next day, the Pink Panthers lost their game against the HVSA Hopewell Express team 7-0. Ayla Mauk had several shots on goal that were stopped by the goalie. Ellie Lamond also had a strong game.
Jack’s Greenhouse & Nursery lost their pre-ICL tournament game Saturday to Robbinsville team 2 in a closely-matched game that went from a 1-1 score at the end of regulation time into a double overtime situation, followed by a shootout. Tessa Caputo had the only regulation goal. Scoring for Jack’s in the shootout were Anna Gabe, Zoe Dec and Jaelyn Krin. Despite a stellar performance, goalie Nataile Kasprzyk was beaten by only one shot that gave Robbinsville the win. Jack’s then went on to play their last regular season game Sunday against Royal Blue. Goaltender Sinyi Li, assisted by Jaelyn Krin and Lucy Antal on defense, turned away all of blue’s offensive charges. The second half saw Blue gaining an advantage to best Jack’s 0-3.
On Saturday, in the Inter County League championship, HVSA Blue Bull Exterminators defeated Hopewell Express by a score of 3-1 in penalty kicks. The HVSA Blue Bulls offense was led by Amanda Flanders, Chelsea Kent, Iris Lautermilch, Sierra Mitchell and Sonia Tenbarge, with the defense supported by Piper Brant, Kirsten Southall, Manvi Shah and Hailey Addonizio. The clean sheet during regulation was held by keepers Lily Ryan and Carly Brant. On Sunday, HVSA Blue Bull Exterminators defeated Jack’s Nursery and Landscape 3-0. Carly Brant, Sierra Mitchell and by Chelsea Kent scored. Iris Lauthermilch, Amanda Flanders, Sonia Tenbarge and Manvi Shah controlled the midfield, with Hailey Addonizio, Kirsten Southall and Piper Brant solidifying defense. HVSA clean sheet was due to the tremendous keeping skills demonstrated by Lily Ryan, Manvi Shah and Sonia Tenbarge.
DIVISION TWO BOYS
On Saturday, Pennington Quality Market faced Northfield Bank in the first round of playoffs, winning 7-2. The offense played a spectacular game with goals scored by Henry West, Aiden Luciano, Gavin McDonough (2), Dylan Yasher, James Todd and Giuseppe Panzitta. Great assists were made by Aiden Luciano, Dylan Yasher, Erik Petrin and Wyatt Russell. Outstanding defense by Samuel Dede, Erik Petrin and Chris Miliaresis combined with the tremendous goaltending by Dylan Yasher, Aiden Luciano, Gavin McDonough and Erik Petrin limited Northfield to two goals.
On Saturday, Regent Floor Covering defeated Union Line Garage Final, 6-3. Conor O’Boyle scored the first goal, Finn Garner scored three goals and Owen Lengle scored two goals. Patrick Shine played a good defense position.
DIVISION TWO GIRLS
The Pennington Quality Market Flower Shop defeated WMLM on Sunday with a final score of 4-3. Kaelyn Gopaul, Olivia Friedrich, Angelyn Li and Sonia Coppisetti took turns guarding the net, as Gianna Azara netted the goals for the Flower Shop.
The Red Lions and Purtuc Dental played to a 2-2 tie on Saturday. The Red Lions jumped out to an early lead on a goal by Eve Szeliga and went ahead 2-1 on a goal by Ava Courtney in the third quarter thanks to good defense by Shreya Mookherjee and Sophia Pellegrino. The Red Lions allowed Purtuc Dental to score only two goals thanks to Gerise Kelly and good goalkeeping by Grace Sullivan. The Red Lions lost a tough 4-3 contest on Sunday to PQM Flower Shop. With the Red Lions down 3-0 in the third quarter Meg Adelman netted a goal to spark a Red Lions comeback. Two Ava Courtney goals later and the game was tied. The comeback was sparked by good offense by Elizabeth Myers and Rosemary Stout.
