DIVISION THREE GIRLS

In an early Saturday morning match, HVSA Blue Bull Exterminators defeated Jack’s Nursery by the score of 3-1. The offense was led by Lily Ryan, Chelsea Kent and Iris Lautermilch, with goals scored by Sonia Tenbarge, Amanda Flanders, and Carly Brant. The defense held Jack’s Nursery to the one goal, with the protection supplied by Hailey Addonizio, Sierra Mitchell, Piper Brant, and Manvi Shah. Goal keeping duty was split by Manvi Shah and Chelsea Kent.

In a challenging, very evenly matched game Sunday, the HVSA Blue Bull Exterminators ended the game ahead 4-3 versus the Hopewell Express Zombies. The Zombies scored early on with a blistering shot by Beth Hooks. The score became even on the first of Amanda Flanders two scores. HVSA defense stood solid as Piper Brant, Kirsten Southall, Hailey Addonizio, Carly Brant and Manvi Shah, controlled their side of the pitch, supplying the midfielders Iris Lauthermilch, Sierra Mitchell, Lily Ryan, Chelsea Kent, and Sonia Tenbarge with opportunities. Two more goals were scored by Sonia T. and Carly B. with one each.

This Saturday brought the Hopewell Express Zombies their first match versus the pink HVSA Dahlia Floral Concepts team. Ayla Mauk scored two goals throughout for the pink team, but the phenomenal goal keeping of Payton Tuorto, and defense by Sydney Tuorto, Sarah Eschleman (the two newest members of the team) and Charlotte Catlett, leading Makayla Scherbekow, Amrit Arora, and Evelyn Lansing, kept the Dahlia team from scoring more than two. Sarah Eschleman played a spectacular two-way game with Kyla Machinga to aid Beth Hooks (one off of a penalty shot) and Emilie Sawicki in getting two goals each for the final 4-2 victory.

It was another hard fought match between the Hopewell Express Green Zombies and the HVSA Blue Exterminators this Sunday. Assisted by Emilie Sawicki, Sarah Eschleman, and Kyla Machinga, the Zombies struck first and early with a goal from Beth Hooks, who would strike one more time later for another multi-goal game. Amanda Flanders and Sonia Tenbarge answered each of Beth Hooks’ goals, and despite an additional goal on a penalty kick by Sarah Eschleman, and another stellar performance in goal by Payton Tuorto for the Zombies, Carly Brant of the exterminators solved the defense of Sydney Tuorto, Amrit Arora, Maddy Flory, and Charlotte Catlett to score twice (including a penalty shot, of which Makayla Scherbekow made an initial save) two rally the Royal Blue HVSA team to a score of 4-3, and another victory.

On Saturday, the Dahlia Florals Pink Panthers girls played the Hopewell Express team. The girls played a strong game but lost 4-2, with Ayla Mauk scoring both goals for the Pink Panthers. Rose Andreski played amazing defense throughout the game and Grace Stroman was very strong on offense.

The following day, the Pink Panthers lost 5-1 in a tough game against the Jack’s Nursery and Landscaping team. Catherine Zeglarsky and Mariel Haynes were both very strong on defense through the entire game. Taylor Wert scored the goal for the Pink Panthers. Ellie Lamond and Lily Panzitta both played well on offense.

Jack’s Greenhouse & Nursery suffered their first loss of the season on Saturday at the hands of the HVSA Royal Blue team. It was a defense battle between the teams with only one goal scored by Royal Blue in the first half. Jack’s rallied behind Tessa Caputo as she scored their only goal, but Royal Blue struck twice to end the game 3 to 1.

On Sunday, Jack’s Greenhouse & Nursery faced-off against Dahlia Floral Concepts. Anna Gabe scored three times in the first half, assisted by Zoe Dec and Katie Clarke on the first two of the three. Natalie Kasprzyk did a great job in goal, only allowing one goal by Dahlia’s Taylor Wert. Katie Clarke started off the scoring for Jack’s in the second half by putting a long range shot past Dahlia’s goalie. Natalie Kasprzyk, now playing offense, scored next, assisted by Anna, who then finished off the scoring by adding one more goal for a season high single game total of 4 goals and one assist. Lucy Antal excellent goalkeeping kept Dahlia’s from scoring during the second half of the game. Great defense during the entire game was provided by Jaina Jackowski, Jaelyn Krin, Olivia Doherty, Shinyi Li, Bella Gaglio and Lily Gaglio.

DIVISION THREE BOYS

In Saturday’s game against DiSimone Orthodontics, Stellitano went ahead in the first half with goals from Larry Kennedy and Richie Keifer. Larry Kennedy added a second half goal on a strong penalty kick, finishing the scoring and a 3-0 win. The midfield was held strong by a combination of Finn Murray-Campbell, Vitor Fontes Nichi, Richie Keifer and Mike Kennedy. Eddie Keifer controlled the defense with Andrew Sagotsky and Oliver Licciardi on the sides. Bryce Meccage played his usual strong game in goal, notching a shutout.

Sunday’s game saw Stellitano avenge an earlier season loss to QuickChek, winning the game 2-0. Mike Kennedy received a perfectly thrown ball from Vitor Fontes Nichi behind the defense and lofted it over the goalie’s head. His brother, Larry Kennedy, received a long pass from Andrew Sagotsky and put it in the back of the net for the second goal of the game. The second half saw many scoring chances by QuickChek turned away by the Stellitano defense—anchored by middleback Eddie Keifer with consistent, strong help from Richie Keifer and Oliver Licciardi on the sides. Finn Murray-Campbell added some late speed and ball control in the midfield. Bryce Meccage stopped several shots in both halves, many during the final minutes of the game, to earn his second shutout of the weekend.

In a very well-played game from both teams, DeSimone Orthodontics started slowly, but overcame a two-goal deficit at halftime with a scoring frenzy late in the second half to defeat Jack’s Nursery 4-2. Scoring twice in the second half was Emerson Hoagland, with additional goals scored by Louis Azara (on a rebound of his own penalty kick) and by Joshua Kohlhepp. Supporting the team with aggressive and consistent offensive and midfield play throughout the game was Jackson Pfau, Michael Stroman, Aaron Nulman, and Michael Moran. In goal, the combination of Dylan Drift and Herbert Carr proved to be a key factor in keeping the team in the game until the very end, and there were multiple defensive plays by Emiliano Fernandez, Colin Szustakowski, Jacob Brown and Bradley Cohen that were crucial to start the offensive attack in the second half.

On a chilly Saturday morning the Carnegie Cats Clinic played an intense game against Quickcheck. There was a nice save of preventing the ball from reaching the goal by Ben Veale (defense), JC Perez (goalie) and Jonathan Sharma (goalie). Chris Sawicki scored 1 goal with the assist of Victor Polverejan. The game ended with a tie of 1-1.

Sunday’s game was played by the Carnegie Cats Clinic against Robbinsville. JC Perez (goalie) blocked a good goal attempt. Jonathan Sharma (goalie) curved the ball on a goal kick. Victore Polverejan scored the first goal. Dan Polverejan, Cameron Philips and Chris Sawicki scored 2 goals each. The final score was 7-1 for the Carnegie Cats Clinic.

DIVISION TWO GIRLS

The Burwood Landscapes & Patio Design team opened up the third week of the season with a nail biting 2-1 loss to Purtuc Dental. Lilla Antal and Pranathi Kummarapuruga lead the offensive charge with Chloe LiVecchi controlling the mid-field. Burwood’s strong goaltending from Eva and Lindsay Giambanco along with Maya Brown kept the game close but the clock ran out as the team was making one last charge to try and even the score.

The Burwood Landscapes & Patio Design team fell short vs. the undefeated PQM Flower Shop girls D2 team with a 2-1 loss on Sunday. The first half ended with a 0-0 tie with the momentum shifting back and forth between the two teams. PQM opened up a lead in the third quarter that was later equalized with a single handed goal from Lilla Antal. Rookie Melanie Hujber showed off her strong ball control in mid field advancing the ball up field through some heavy PQM traffic. Kathryn Finn and Allison Howe held strong on defense against several very fast PQM offensive charges.

The Red Lions lost a tough one Sunday to the McDonough Live Wires 2-1. In a real defensive battle Eve Szeliga played really good defense to keep the game close with help from Zoe Martinez disrupting scoring chances. On the offensive side good aggressive play by Meg Adelman led to her assisting a goal by Ava Courtney.

On Saturday, The PQM Flower Shop played Dr. McDonough’s Live Wires. The PQM Flower Shop won the game with a score of 4-0. Juila Schwarz netted 2 goals, and Olivia Friedrich and Gianna Azara contributed 1 each. Maeve Geurds, Kaylee Gorman, Kaelyn Gopaul, and Ruby Golkov protected the net for PQM.

It was a close match between PQM Flower Shop and Burwood Landscapes and Patio on Sunday. PQM flower shop walked away with a win with a score of 2-1. Both goals came off the foot of Gianna Azara in the second half of the game. The goalies, Olivia Friedrich, Maeve Geurds, Rebekkah Siegelheim, and Kaelyn Gopaul, played strong to hold on to the win.

DIVISION TWO BOYS

Greenleaf Landscaping played Northfield Bank on Sunday and won 6-0. The Greenleaf Serps only fielded the minimum eight players required to start the game, which meant the team needed to play without any substitutions. Leading the way for Greenleaf were Noah Pashman and Jack Gabe. Both Noah and Jack scored two goals each, along with one assist each. Jack Gabe also scored on a corner kick that was deflected into the goal. Shane Sullivan added a hard-fought goal, as he drove through three defenders and finally punched the ball into the goal. Luke Rodefeld played a strong center back, using his speed and aggressiveness to keep Northfield at bay. Ryan Fornal excelled at defense, and then switched gears, and played an aggressive striker in the second half. Finnegan “Terminator” Curley ran endlessly, playing midfield for the entire game. Finnegan ran approximately 4.2 miles during the 48 minutes of play. Finally, Logan Paul stood his ground at left back, clearing the ball during several key sequences (despite being knocked over during one of them). He brushed himself off and continued play in true Greenleaf form.

UnionLine Garage won 5-1 against Horvarth and Giacin on Saturday. The team steadily improved over the last few weeks showing more confidence in the field. Great communication and teamwork lead to UnionLine Garage’s first victory of the season. UnionLine Garage lost 2-5 against Regent Floor Covering on Sunday. It was a hard fought game to the last minute. In the end, Regents Floor Covering’s strong offense clench victory for the day.

Pennington Quality Market faced Northfield Bank on Saturday. Dylan Yasher led the team with 2 goals. On offense Henry West put the pressure on Northfield Bank with a goal and 2 assists. Wyatt Russell also scored for PQM, and Aiden Luciano helped the team with an assist. The defense led by Guiseppe Panzitta and Gavin McDonough put up a strong fight. PQM won with a final score of 4-2.

Pennington Quality Market defeated Horvath & Giacin on Sunday afternoon with a score of 6-1. Henry West had a great game, scoring 3 goals for PQM with assists from Guiseppe Panzitta and Gavin McDonough. Defensemen William Stowe, Wyatt Russell, Samuel Dede, and Christopher Miliaresis fought hard to keep Horvath & Giacin from scoring. With second half goals scored by Erik Petrin, Dylan Yasher, and James Todd, PQM put up an unstoppable effort on the field.

Horvath & Giacin lost 5-1 against Union Line Garage on Saturday in what was anticipated to be a close match. The team looked exhausted on this Saturday game, but still put in a great effort driving the ball down field to the opponents goal. Samik Mookherjee, Andrew Nalbone and Saylor Schoene helped defend the goal while Eli Angarone again showed off his endless energy by covering both sides of the field. Offense was made up by Josh Rheinhardt, Jackson Blackwell and Andrew Nalbone showed a good team effort in droving the ball down field. Scoring the only goal for the team was Jackson Blackwell with a solid left foot kick.

Horvath & Giacin lost 6-1 against Pennington Quality Market on Sunday. Eli Angarone playing solid midfield as always covering both sides of the field providing great defensive coverage and aiding forwards with getting to our opponents goal. Peter Didonato and Scott Mangan suited up as goalie for two quarters each and did a commendable job stepping up and blocking numerous kicks on goal. Defense was played often by Andrew Nalbone, Eli Croner and Jack Thielmann driving away numerous attempts at goal. Driving attempts at the goal were Matviy Mykytyn, Josh Rheinhardt and Juan Geller. Scoring the only goal for the team within the last few minutes of the game was Josh Rheinhardt.
