DIVISION THREE BOYS

On Saturday, the Carnegie Cat Clinic defeated Quickcheck, 3-1. JC Perez caught a goal-kick and blocked several goal-attempts. Ben Veale kicked a goal shot away from the goal early in the game. Cameron Phillips took a shot from midfield and scored a goal for the Carnegie Cat Clinic. Jonathan Sharma caught a direct goal-kick and blocked several goal-attempts. JC Perez passed the ball to Cameron Phillips who scored the second goal for the Carnegie Cat Clinic team. JC Perez passed the ball to Victor Polverejan, who scored.

On Sunday, the Carnegie Cat Clinic defeated Stellitano Plumbing & A/C, 1-0. The Carnegie Cat Clinic team demonstrated good passing skills but no goals were scored on the first half of the game. During the second half of the game, the Carnegie Cat Clinic team increased their offense strategies. JC Perez kicked the ball from the sideline and scored the winning goal.

Stellitano defeated DeSimone Orthodontics in the HVSA semi-finals 2-0. Finn Murray-Campbell scored in the first half by surprising the defense. In the second half, he took a long cross-field pass from Mike Kennedy and blasted the ball into the back of the net. On offense, Larry Kennedy and Corban Ballek extended the field. Midfield was held down by the combination of Vitor Fontes Nichi, Richie Keifer, Andrew Sagotsky and Simeon DaPonte. The defense helped record the shutout with Ben Licciardi, Eddie Keifer, Teddy Franzino and Oliver Licciardi allowing only a few shots on goal. Bryce Meccage kept the clean sheet in goal. Stellitano lost to the Carnegie Cat Clinic in the Finals on Sunday. In a tense, exciting game that saw both teams have several good opportunities, Carnegie Cat Clinic scored on a late set piece and held off the Stellitano attack to gain the victory.

DIVISION THREE GIRLS

During Saturday’s HVSA playoff game, HVSA Blue Bull Exterminators defeated Dahlia’s Floral Concepts 5-3. Blue Bell’s goals in the first half were made by Chelsea Kent (two) and Carly Brant. In the second half both teams controlled the ball well, with the midfielders Iris Lautermilch, Sonia Tenbarge and Sierra Mitchell looking to move down the pitch with passing, connecting with Lily Ryan and Amanda Flanders for two more goals. The keepers were supported by defenders Piper Brant, Kirsten Southall, Manvi Shah and Hailey Addonizio.

During the championship on Sunday, HVSA Blue Bull Exterminators defeated Jack’s Nursery and Landscape 2-0. In the first half, Jack’s Nursery moved the ball well, trying to break through the defensive wall held by Piper Brant, Manvi Shah, Kirsten Southall, Hailey Addonizio and goalie Lily Ryan. The lone goal of the half was scored by Blue Bull’s Carly Brant. In the second half Blue Bell’s middle infielders—Chelsea Kent, Sierra Mitchell, Iris Lautermilch, Sonia Tenbarge—took control, keeping the ball primarily on the offensive side of the pitch, feeding Amanda Flanders for the security goal with only a few minutes left in the game.

On Sunday, the Dahlia Floral Concepts ended their season with a hard-fought game against the Hopewell Express team. The Pink Panthers lost the game 3-5, but had a strong offensive and defensive game. Grace Stroman scored twice and Ayla Mauk scored once. Mia Govantes played great defense and stopped several shots from getting too close to goal.

Jack’s Greenhouse & Nursery won their first round playoff game on Saturday, defeating Hopewell Express in a nail-biting shootout after a scoreless double overtime. The first half of the regulation game time saw goals from Tessa Caputo and Anna Gabe. The second half was a closely matched defensive battle lead by Jaelyn Krin, Shinyi Li and Bella Gaglio. Zoe Dec and Lucy Antal shared goaltending duties for Jack’s during the resulting shootout. Tessa, Anna, Jaelyn and Katie Clarke scored one goal apiece but Hopewell Express countered each. Going into the sudden death second round of shootouts, both Jack’s and Hopewell Express’ first two shooters were unable to score. With the crowd on their feet, Zoe Dec answered the call and shot the ball past Hopewell Express’ goaile to win the game for “Jack’s Tigers” and advance them to the division championship the following day.

On Sunday, Jack’s Greenhouse & Nursery lost to HVSA Royal Blue in the HVSA D3 Girls Championship. Goalie Lucy Antal made many saves in the first half, but couldn’t prevent one hard shot from besting her to put Royal Blue up 1-0 at the end of the first half. Despite five shots by Anna Gabe, and three shots each by Tessa Caputo, Natalie Kasprzyk and Jaina Jackowski, Jack’s was unable to score. Royal Blue added one additional goal to end the game at 2-0.

DIVISION TWO BOYS

Pennington Quality Market defeated Regent Floor Covering on Saturday in the second round of playoffs, 3-2. Goalie Giuseppe Panzitta had a spectacular performance making key saves for PQM. Henry West played an outstanding game, with two goals and an assist. Dylan Yasher gave his all for the team, netting a goal and playing solid defense. James Todd, Wyatt Russell and Aiden Luciano also made great plays on offense. Defensemen Chris Miliaresis, Vincent Matticoli and William Stowe kept Regent Floor Covering at bay.

On Sunday, Pennington Quality Market lost to Greenleaf Landscaping in the championship game, 2-1. Gavin McDonough, assisted by Henry West, scored the first goal of the game for PQM. Teammates Erik Petrin, Aiden Luciano and James Todd also put forth a strong effort on offense. Defenders Chris Miliaresis, Dylan Yasher, Wyatt Russell, William Stowe and Vincent Matticoli fought hard to keep Greenleaf from scoring. In goal, Giuseppe Panzitta played another outstanding game.

On Saturday, Regent Floor Covering lost to Pennington Quality Market , 3-2. Finn Garner and Owen Lengle scored the two goals for Regent. On Sunday, Regent Floor Covering took third place in the tournament with a 5-4 win over Soccer Post. Finn Garner (2), Conor O’Boyle and Owen Lengle scored. Robert White did a great job in goal and playing defense.

DIVISION TWO GIRLS

The opening playoff game was played on Saturday by Pennington Quality Market Flower Shop and WMLM. PQM Flower Shop advanced to the championship game with a final score of 3-2. Gianna Azara had the hat trick, while Kaelyn Gopaul and Olivia Friedrich played goalie. In the championship game, Pennington Quality Market Flower Shop defeated Burwood Landscapes and Patios, 2-1. Gianna Azara put the Flower Shop ahead with two goals. Gianna was supported on offense by Julia Schwartz, Ruby Golkov, Rebekkah Siegleheim, Maeve Geurds and Kaylie Gorman. The defense—made up of Sonia Coppisetti, Addie Rhodes, Elizabeth Eckel, Angelyn Li and Arya Khare—held strong throughout the game. Olivia Friedrich and Kaeyln Gopaul protected the net for the Flower Shop. The PQM Flower Shop ended the season with a 12-2-1 record.
