The Hopewell Borough Council of Churches will again sponsor evening Vacation Bible School for children in Pre-K through fifth grade from July 22 to July 26. Sessions run from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Hosting this year is Hopewell Presbyterian Church, aided by volunteers from First and Second Calvary Baptist Churches, Hopewell Methodist Church, and St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. All children from the community are welcome to attend.
This year’s theme is “Cathedral”, a series of hands-on activities and lessons centered around how scripture has inspired people of faith to create artistic and architectural spaces for worship.
At the conclusion of VBS week on July 26, families and all members of the community are invited to participate in a special walking tour of all of the sacred spaces in Hopewell. All five churches will be open from 6:30 to 8:00 pm and visitors will be greeted by knowledgeable building “tour guides”. Beginning at 8:00 p.m. at Hopewell Presbyterian Church, the participating VBS children will present a brief celebration program with music and crafts. Complimentary refreshments will be served.
