The Hopewell Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary has created the Second Historic Hopewell Throw Blanket, which will be on sale through December. The throw blanket showcases nine historic structures that tell the story of how Hopewell was involved with the birth of the nation more than 200 years ago.
The Second Historic Hopewell Throw Blanket contains different historic sites than the first version from 20 years ago. The blanket is 48 by 68 inches, is machine washable and was made in the USA.
It is available in a choice of four colors on a natural background—cranberry, hunter green, duke blue and black—and includes a brief history of each of the historical sites shown on the blanket.
The Hopewell Fire Dept has been an all volunteer organization since 1911. It’s goal is to support the fire department by purchasing equipment and training materials which are not covered by the fire tax or other funding. The purpose of this fundraiser is to raise money for the renovation and restoration of the firehouse which was purchased from the borough in 2012.
The blankets each cost $40, with an additional $8 shipping fee if applicable. They can be purchased by emailing hopewellblanket@gmail.com or online at hopewellfire.com.
Blankets will also be on sale Saturday, Dec. 3 at the Hopewell Firehouse when Santa lights the town Christmas tree, and on Dec. 11 through Dec. 13 during “Present Drop Off” nights.
