Film screenings and seminars set for Pennington Public Library in April

The Pennington Library has four events scheduled for April, including two film screenings.

“Having The Talk:” The Four Keys to Your Parents Safe Retirement author Jack Tatar is set to present 11 a.m. April 13. In his presentation, Tatar will give advice on how adult children should discuss retirement, aging, health care, estate planning, will and trusts with their parents.

Tatar regularly speaks about retirement and contributes to Marketwatch.com. His website is safe4retirement.com.

Under Our Skin: The Hidden Story of Lyme Disease is set to be screened 3 p.m. April 14. Through following stories of patients and physicians fighting for their lives and livelihoods, the film portrays a haunting picture of a health care system willing to put profits ahead of patients.

There will be a post-film question and answer session with Lyme Disease advocate and survivor, Dorothy Aicher and licensed chiropractor and acupuncturist, Dr. John Hamada.

Prince Among Slaves is set to be screened 7 p.m. April 19. This is the true story of an African Muslim prince who was captured and sold into slavery in the American South. After 40 years of enslavement, he finally regained his freedom, became a national celebrity and dined in the White House.

A travel photography seminar led by Miles Truesdell is set for 7 p.m. April 24. Truesdell will discuss snapping, organizing, editing and sharing images. Following the presentation, there will be photo workshop. Feel free to bring your camera equipment.

Photographer Miles Truesdell has over 15 years of commercial photography experience and is a senior adjunct photography instructor at MCCC.

All events are scheduled for the Pennington Library, 30 North Main Street, Pennington.
