Explorations has five courses for senior citizens, including art and history classes, scheduled for the spring.
Basic Drawing & Water Colors is a six session course set to begin April 1 at Hopewell Valley Senior Center, 395 Reading Street, Pennington. The class taught by Sue Ewart and is limited to 12 students. Enrollment may be decided by lottery.
The American Revolution: A Living History is a six week course set to begin April 1 at Pennington Methodist Church, 60 South Main Street, Pennington. Instructor Stan Saperstein will lead the class dressed as various characters who had prominent roles in the conflict.
Enjoying Shakespeare is a six week course set to begin April 2 at Pennington Presbyterian Church, 13 South Main Street, Pennington. Students will study The Comedy of Errors, Macbeth and Antony & Cleopatra and discuss Shakespeare’s language, ideas and problems he presents in his plays. Film clips and background material are provided.
The Gershwins, Rodgers & Hammerstein: Broadway Musicals is a four week class set to begin April 3 at Pennington Methodist Church. In this course, instructor Jack Abrams explore Broadway musicals of yesterday.
The United States Constitution is a six week course set to begin April 4 at Pennington Methodist Church. Instructor Jeanne Gorrissen will discuss the conditions that culminated in the Constitutional Convention of 1787 and the the implementation of the document that was conceived there.
All classes are scheduled to begin at 1 pm.
Classes are open to all seniors, with preference given to Hopewell Valley residents.
Fees are $30 for one course and $20 for each additional course.
