Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton has completed an $8.5 million expansion of their Cancer Center to bring new services to their physicians and patients.
With the expansion comes the newest and most precise TrueBeam Linear Accelerator technology in New Jersey, offering advanced treatment in radiation therapy and radiosurgery, as well as new PET-CT technology to investigate cancer cells, stage cancer tumors and plan radiation treatment — the only such PET-CT simulation technology available in the local community.
The new TrueBeam Linear Accelerator will not only improve precision in radiation treatment, but it will also offer greater patient comfort by significantly shortening treatment times. The expanded Cancer Center will provide additional treatment space for new services, patient comfort and privacy.
RWJUH Hamilton’s Cancer Center expansion reflects the deep commitment by RWJBarnabas Health and Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey to enhance the community’s health and provide patients with an alternative to traveling long distances for frequent visits.
