Wellness and fitness programs are scheduled for Princeton HealthCare in April

A Matter of Balance is set for 1 to 3 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays April 1 through 24 in Conference Rooms A and B at the Hamilton Area YMCA, John K. Rafferty Branch, 1315 Whitehorse-Mercerville Road, Suite 100, Hamilton.

This free program offers practical coping strategies to reduce the risk and fear of falling. Small groups are led by trained facilitators who help participants set realistic goals for increasing activity, change their environment to reduce the risk of falls and learn simple exercises to increase strength and balance.

Abdominal Pain: When to Go to the Emergency Department is set for 6:30–8 p.m. April 2 at the Hamilton Area YMCA John K. Rafferty Branch.

Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro, Craig A. Gronczewski is set to lead an information session explaining when to seek medical attention for abdominal pain.This is a free event.

Experience the Benefits of Exercise and Weight Loss is set for 7 to 8 pm. Mondays and Thursdays April 4 through May 23

at Princeton Fitness & Wellness Center, 1225 State Road, Princeton.

This eight-week fitness and wellness program is designed to educate and motivate individuals who want to lose at least 50 pounds. The program kicks off with a panel discussion 7 p.m. April 2 with certified personal trainer T.J. Marvel, fitness manager Sharon Casper, board certified surgeon Wai Yip, who specializes in bariatric surgery, and certified professional life coach Donna De Mild.

Chronic Neck and Back Pain is set for 7 to 8:30 p.m. is set for April 11 at Robbinsville Library, 42 Allentown–Robbinsville Road, Robbinsville.

Medical Staff of Princeton HealthCare System Ronald Gonzalez, MD, who specializes in physiatry, is set to lead a free informative session about the common causes of chronic back and neck pain, as well as non-surgical treatments.

What to Know Now That I Am Pregnant is set for 7 to 8 p.m. April 11 at Princeton Fitness & Wellness Center.

Obstetrics and gynaecology doctor, Christopher A. Naraine, is set to discuss prenatal care, the questions pregnant women should ask their doctors during initial prenatal visits and the new Center for Maternal and Newborn Care at University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro. This is a free event.

AARP Driver Safety Program is set for 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. April 16 and 17 at Princeton Fitness & Wellness Center.

This course is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members.

The course instructor will teach defensive driving techniques, how to handle problem situations and aggressive drivers among other driving lessons. Taking this course may result in a reduction in car insurance premiums-depending on insurance company- and New Jersey drivers may be eligible to have up to two points removed from their driving record.

CarFit is set for 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on April 17 at Princeton Fitness & Wellness Center.

This free program is meant for older drivers. A CarFit Drive technician will help adjust your vehicle for a better fit to provide greater comfort and better vehicle control.

Going Green with Spring Vegetables is set for 6 to 7 p.m April 22 at Princeton Fitness & Wellness Center.

Outpatient and community education dietitian with University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro’s Nutrition Program, Jane Schwartz, is set to discuss new and creative ways to eat vegetables with salad and sauté recipes during this hands-on program. This class is free for participants registered for Experience the Benefits of Weight Loss Series and $10 for those not enrolled.
