Tulpehaking Nature Center plans to feature Bald Eagles on March 22.
The Tulpehaking Nature Center plans to offer families a rare glimpse into the lives of the region’s bald eagles with a presentation of “Bald Eagles in Your Backyard” on Sunday, March 22, from 2 to 4 p.m. The event will take place at the Tulpehaking Nature Center, 157 Westcott Ave. in Hamilton.
In this program, researchers studying bald eagles with the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of NJ will share their stories of these creatures living along the Crosswicks Creek in the Abbott Marshlands and surrounding areas of Mercer and Burlington counties. Visitors will get to see and touch artifacts from eagles and their nests and then meet a live bald eagle, presented by the Mercer County Wildlife Center.
On a future date in May, visitors will have the chance to see the Abbott Marshlands bald eagle nest in person with a public viewing near the site in the D&R Canal State Park.
The program has a $5-per-person suggested donation. Visitors also have the chance to win a custom birdhouse that will be raffled off at the end of the program. All proceeds will benefit the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of NJ and Wildlife Center Friends.
