Ryan, a six-year-old boy who lives with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, with the Police Chief after popping a water balloon on his head. Ryan is one of the children who received support from the John J. Harvilla Tinman Foundation.
The John J. Harvilla Tinman Foundation’s second annual Sunday Funday is scheduled from 3 to 8 p.m. May 19 at the Stone Terrace by John Henry, 2275 Kuser Road, Hamilton.
The event honors John J. Harvilla, a U.S. Marine who served in Iraq and Hamilton Township police office who died in a motorcycle accident in August 2011.
Tickets for Sunday Funday are $40 and include food, cash bar, activities and music by Jah Guide reggae band.
Proceeds are set to benefit Nicholas Palmieri who suffers from Aperts Syndrome, a disorder which creates malformations of the skull, face, hands and feet. Palmieri has undergone five surgeries and will require more corrective and reconstructive surgeries throughout his childhood and adolescence.

The Tinman Foundation was created in memory of Harvilla and named after his starring role in a Crockett Middle School production. The foundation aims to raise money for children suffering from serious diseases.
In its first year, the Tinman Foundation helped Ryan, a seven-year-old boy who lives with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and Leanna, a six-year-old girl who lives with cystic fibrosis.
