Steinert jazz combo performs for Morgan students

Morgan Elementary School fifth grader Zachary Melnicki counts off the beat for the Jazz Combo on Feb. 6, 2013.

In honor of Black History Month, Steinert High School’s jazz combo performed at Morgan Elementary School Feb. 6.

Third, fourth and fifth graders listened to the band play songs such as Summertime, The Lady is a Tramp, and a jazz version of I Wanna Be Like You from The Jungle Book.

Jazz Combo director, Michael Anzuini, discussed the connection between jazz music and African American history.
