Gitenstein and Martinson
Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton named two trustees to its board of directors.
The new trustees are the College of New Jersey president Babara Gitenstein and Sparta Systems CEO Eileen Martinson.
Gitenstein, of Pennington, is the first woman to lead TCNJ in its 157 year history. She has been president since 1999 and has more than 30 years of experience as a college professor and administrator.
Under her leadership, TCNJ has been among the top-ranked public institutions in the nation. In its latest rankings, U.S. News and World Report listed TCNJ as the No. 1 public and fifth overall school in the standings among both public and private institutions in the Best Regional Universities category for the northeast.
Martinson is a highly accomplished software industry executive with more than two decades of leadership experience. She leads Sparta Systems, a company that provides enterprise quality management software to the life sciences, consumer products and electronics sectors.
Martinson’s philanthropy activities include the Martinson Family Foundation, which funds and guides more than 25 programs at universities to advance STEM instruction in schools. Martinson also supports USO Wounded Warriors, which provides non-medical care and family assistance to severely injured service members.
Gitenstein and Martinson join a board of distinguished community members, chaired by J. Lynne Cannon, CEO of Princeton Management Development Institute, Inc.
