Rosa Spera Gilmore, owner and operator of Rosa’s Restaurant and Catering, is set to host an ice cream party to benefit the the Sunshine Foundation’s Mercer County Chapter.
In celebration of National Ice Cream Month, the fundraiser is scheduled for 5 to 9 p.m. July 13 at the restaurant, 3442 South Broad St., Hamilton.
During the event, a dish of Italian gelato or a cone or dish of ice cream is $3. Checks may be made payable to the Mercer County Chapter.
Additionally, Rosa’s is set to donate 20 percent of luncheon and dinner receipts on July 15 to the Sunshine Foundation.
Proceeds benefit the Sunshine Foundation’s efforts, including the Dreamlift to Walt Disney World.
Along with “celebrity scoopers”, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Tinker Bell and Sonny the Sunshine Bear are set to meet and take pictures with attendees.
Celebrity scoopers include local business owners, politicians and community members, like Assemblymen Dan Benson and Wayne P. DeAngelo, Hamilton Township Police Department Detective Quincy Hendryx, State Senator Linda Greenstein, chef Jimmy Kamies of Amici’s and and Pastor Lance Walker of Faith Baptist Church.
Mercer County Chapter, Sunshine Foundation is part of the national network that aims to answer the dreams of chronically ill, seriously ill, physically challenged and abused children whose families cannot fulfill dream requests because of the financial difficulties.
