Kisthardt Elementary School hosted their first annual R.E.A.L. (Read, Excel, Achieve, Lead) Men Read night for students and their families on Feb. 6.
Six male role models from the community read to students, who came to the event in their pajamas.
Readers included Minister Jaye Woods, Hamilton YMCA site director Liane Butler, retired Hamilton Township teacher Ted Reed, Kisthardt parent Kenyon Alexander, retired N.J. Bell engineer and U.S. Marine Richard West, Hamilton Township School Board member Anthony Celentano and Kisthardt crossing guard Eric Guido.
Created in Chicago, the program promotes literacy by encouraging students and families to read.
