Rutgers Master Gardeners of Mercer County is set to host its annual Spring Plant Expo and Garden Market.
The sale, featuring nurseries from Pennsylvania and New Jersey, is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 4at the Mercer Educational Gardens, 431A Federal City Road, Hopewell Township.
Among the plants for sale are native plants, woody ornamentals, herbs, annuals, perennials and garden whimsy. There will also be a second-hand sale with garden related items.
Vendors features Hamilton’s Dragonfly Farms, which sells annuals, herbs, pots and garden whimsy. Other vendors are American Native Nursery of Quakertown, Pa., Linden Hill Gardens of Ottsville, Pa. Peony’s Envy of Bernardsville, P. Steven Kristoph of Millstone Township, Shannon’s Nursery of Doylestown, Pa., Wild Ridge Plants of Hillsborough and RareFind Nursery of Jackson.
Master Gardeners will sell their heirloom, cherry and Ramapo tomatoes and other vegetables.
Mercer County Horticulturist Barbara J. Bromley will be at the market to answer gardening questions.
The Rutgers Master Gardeners of Mercer County is a volunteer educational outreach program of Rutgers Cooperative Extension. Master Gardeners participate in many volunteer programs throughout the County, as well as answer home horticulture questions through their Rutgers Master Gardener Helpline, (609) 989-6853, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (March through October) and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (November through February).
