Hamilton Township is set to hold a free rabies immunization clinic for residents’ dogs and cats on Wednesday, March 25th at the McManimon Township Building located at 320 Scully Avenue, between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Additionally, the previously scheduled Saturday, March 28th clinic will be cancelled and rescheduled at a later date.
As a courtesy, Hamilton’s rabies clinics are open to pets of Township residents only (proof of residency is required), and are free of charge.
For residents utilizing this Hamilton Township service, all dogs must be leashed. As a safety precaution, dogs should be muzzled, if necessary. All cats must arrive in a carrier.
Following the March 25th clinic, Hamilton will also hold rabies clinics in June and September.
In response to the rabies epidemic in our wildlife, the New Jersey Department of Health Policy requires the immunization of dogs every 2 years, even if the inoculation is good for a 3 year period. 2015 Dog Licenses will not be issued if a pet’s rabies immunization expires before November 1, 2015.
