The Community Blood Council of New Jersey is set to giveaway Super Bowl tickets during its Celebration of Life Blood Drive.
All blood drive participants are set to be entered to win a pair of tickets for Super Bowl XLVIII at Met Life Stadium.
Additionally, for every unit of blood collected, the Community Blood Council is set to make a financial contribution to the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund.
The Celebration of Life Blood Drive is hosted by Lindsey’s Life Savers, an organization dedicated to Lindsey Tippett, who once suffered from Ewing’s Sarcoma.
Tippett was diagnosed with a rare, inoperable form of Ewing’s Sarcoma -a bone cancer that afflicts adolescents- at age 12. She was given six month to live.
Today,Tippett is a teacher, engaged to be married and cancer free.
Much of her treatment required blood and platelets transfusions. Tippett wants to give back to the community by providing the materials that helped save her life.
The drive is scheduled for 3 to 7 p.m. on July 24 at Whitehorse Volunteer Fire Company, 19 Locust Ave., Hamilton.
