French crafters, artists, designers and more will come together May 5 and 6, 2017 at the Oh-la-la Ephermeral Boutique, a pop-up shop that aims to bring a little bit of Paris to Princeton. The shop, located at 16 All Saints Rd., will offer Provençal flavors and invite visitors to share the authentic French “Art de Vivre” through food and drink, home decoration, fabrics and paper creations, fashion, jewelry, art and photography, cooking classes and more.
The concept of the French-themed market was founded in 2013, originally as private sales, by a small group of French designers. Since then, the boutique has grown but kept its objective to promote the French lifestyle, creating a cross-cultural encounter. This year’s theme is Provence.
Around a Provençal booth honoring regional products, guests can find Marat d’Avignon linen and soaps of Marseille from Marius Fabre imported by Tacks and Fabrics; fougasses and special breads from Terra Momo Bread; and honey from Tassot Apiaries. A dozen artists and designers will also display their creations, all 100 percent French made.
New contributors include a collection of mother-daughter dresses from Cocli Collection; home decor, clothes and accessories with a seaside feel made out of sails from 727 Sailsbags; French chocolates from Michel Cluizel; handmade fabric accessories from Couture à Maman; personalized embroideries and appliqués by Linge et Bobines; traditional upholstery by Lounge Chez Cel; and a fencing “à la Française” lesson from Sebastiani Fencing Academy.
Returning vendors include Les Délices d’Annelise and her homemade confectioneries, pastries and viennoiseries from The Little Chef; summer collection jewelry from La Dune; and handmade cards and paper decorations from la Carterie de Cloclo.
In the gallery space, urban photographer Laurent Ouzilou will accompany artists Jannick Wilderg and Pierre Bernay from Auloffée Arts. Bernay will talk about his incredible journey on a sailing vessel with the aim of painting the Antarctic. The talk will be held at 7 p.m. on May 5.
Finally, little ones and grown-ups can participate in cooking classes with Provençale recipes. The adult session will be held on May 5 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and costs $30. Kids’ sessions are set for May 6 from 10:30 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Cost is $25.
Registration for the cooking classes is required. To register, or for more information about the boutique, visit ohlala-ephemeralboutique.com.
