The new Director of PEACturf, Kara Forsythe, will head PEAC’s indoor sports and recreation facility.
PEAC Health and Fitness has announced the appointment of Kara Forsythe as Director of PEACturf, PEAC’s new indoor sports and recreation facility.
Forsythe, a Ewing resident, has been involved in local youth sports for over 18 years. She entered the world of local recreation as a tee ball coach for Ewing Little League, and subsequently served as parent representative, Vice President and President of the organization. Her baseball experience also includes positions on the board of the Ewing Babe Ruth and Ewing American Legion organizations. In 1997, Forsythe began coaching recreational youth soccer and has been involved in West End Soccer (Ewing United) for a number of years.
From 2002 through 2013, Forsythe was the Evening Recreation Supervisor for Ewing Township Recreation, under the direction of Community Affairs and Recreation Director Ted Forst. In this role, Forsythe was responsible for overseeing league play run by the township. In addition, she was instrumental in developing the Ewing Indoor Soccer Program, which included instructional and league play for youth preschool to high school age.
In 2015, Forsythe was recognized for her contributions to local youth sports and was named a member of the Ewing Recreation Honor Roll.
Forsythe joined the staff of PEAC Health and Fitness in 2012 as the Director of KidSpace, PEAC’s onsite child care area, and soon after added the role of Service Desk Coordinator. She was a member of PEAC Health and Fitness for four years before joining the staff.
PEACturf, which opened in January 2015, features a 60’x 180’ AstroTurf PureGrass field. The indoor sports and recreation facility includes youth instructional programs, sports leagues, clinics and open field sessions. Open field time is also scheduled for adult walk-in sports. Field rentals are available for team practices, games or corporate events. A variety of birthday party packages are offered and PEAC Blends and Juices offers freshly made smoothies.
