For the month of October, PEAC Health & Fitness is set to “go pink” to show its support for breast cancer awareness.
Throughout the month PEAC is scheduled to host a number of activities which will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure Central and South Jersey.
PEAC is set to donate 10 cents for every mile logged on its pink treadmill during October. Members can purchase pink items, with proceeds from the sale benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
In addition, all PEAC staff will wear pink for the week of October 6 to show support.
A silent auction is set for Oct. 1 – 25, with items donated from local businesses and artists. Among the auction items are artwork, gift baskets and financial services.
PEAC is scheduled to offer three special classes to support the cause on Oct. 19 as part of its Fall Fest. Cardio Tennis for the Cure is set for 8 a.m., Zumba for the Cure and Yoga for the Cure are set for 10:30 a.m. Participants are asked to wear pink.
PEAC is set to donate all of the proceeds from its activities to Susan G. Komen for the Cure Central and South Jersey. The donation will be made in honor of Christine Tentilucci, PEAC’s Marketing Coordinator, who was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer in January 2013 and recently completed treatment.
This marks the seventh year PEAC has recognized Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
