Mercer County Club Sports will host an adult dodgeball tournament on Saturday, May 13 to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mercer County.
Teams will participate in a round-robin tournament beginning at noon, with the top four teams qualifying for a shot at the championship. All teams will play at least three games throughout the day on the indoor turf field at PEAC Health & Fitness, located at 1440 Lower Ferry Road, Ewing. Teams will be composed of five to 10 members, with five players on the court to start each game.
Mercer County Club Sports officials hope the tournament will highlight their new partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mercer County. The sports league plans to offer a discounted membership and other incentives to Big Brothers Big Sisters volunteers.
“Our primary goal is always to make the community better, and encouraging our athletes to become mentors is a win for everyone,” Founder and Managing Partner of Mercer County Club Sports Andy Maskell said.
Mercer County Club Sports is a community group that offers 12 recreational adult sport leagues throughout the year, including dodgeball, kickball, flag football and wiffleball. Approximately 500 members—ranging in age from 18 to 63—participate each season, and the group is primarily composed of young professionals who live or work in Mercer County.
Registration for the dodgeball tournament is open through May 6. However, there is only room for 12 teams, and organizers expect the tournament to reach capacity. Captains who are interested in forming teams should visit mercerclubsports.com or email info@mercerclubsports.com.
