VolunteerConnect will recognize Marge Smith, The Boys & Girls Club of Mercer and Hill Wallack LLP at The Nature of Volunteering cocktail reception on October 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. at D&R Greenway Land Trust in Princeton.
The Impact Award recognizes individuals, corporations or community organizations that have made significant contributions towards volunteerism in greater Mercer County.
Smith has spent over 30 years committed to enabling nonprofits and communities to succeed. She founded Princeton Community Works, an annual nonprofit conference, and teaches nonprofit management at mercer County Community College. She is currently on the board of CASA of Mercer and Burlington Counties and is an emeritus board member of VolunteerConnect.
The Boys & Girls Club’s use of volunteers is pivotal in delivering successful outcomes for their 2300 youths engaged in club programs each year. Approximately 300 volunteers throughout Mercer County support the clubs’s education, career, leadership and healthy living programs for area youth and teens. The club’s social entrepreneurial program such as the Bike Exchange and new Computer Exchange rely heavily on volunteer support. The establishment of the Computer Exchange was supported with a skills-based volunteer through VolunteerConnect.
Hill Wallack LLP attorneys are often recognized not just as advocates for their clients, but more and more as advocates for the community.
