Jewish Community Youth Foundation honored 162 teenagers at their 10th annual Philanthropy Fair and Check Presentation March 3 at West Windsor Plainsboro High School South.

JCYF distributed $72,000 to 29 programs by 162 area teens representing 12 middle schools, 21 high schools and 17 synagogues.

JCYF is a teen philanthropy program administered by Jewish Family & Children’s Service of Greater Mercer County, the Ricky and Andrew J. Shechtel Philanthropic Fund, and the Jewish Federation of Princeton Mercer Bucks.

59 honorees were from West Windsor, Princeton Junction and Plainsboro.

Princeton Junction resident Alison Berg, who is currently a junior at the University of Michigan, won the third annual JCYF Distinguished Alumni Award. She was honored for her commitment to the Jewish community and participation in community service activities.

Berg received a $360 award that she plans to donate to fellow alumni Erica Borsack of West Windsor. Borsack is participating in the NYC Aquaphor Triathlon for Team OneFamily, which aids victims of terrorist attacks in Israel.

JCYF is a program for eight through 12th graders that promotes philanthropy. Since its inception, 357 JCYF participants have donated $463,745 to 53 Jewish programs.
