Jason C. Farkas earned the Eagle Scout rank at his Court of Honor on March 21.A lifelong Bordentown Township resident and a 2014 graduate and National Honor Society student of Bordentown Regional High School, Farkas received his Eagle approval in August 2014. Farkas is now 18 and majoring in engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken. For his Eagle Scout project, he built a Prayer Garden at the First Presbyterian Church of Titusville. He chose this project because he attended Youth Group and Kung Fu at that church, and he wanted to build something somewhere that he knew the people would use and enjoy.
Also, the church had nowhere outside for people to pray.
Farkas has been a Scout since third grade and earned his Eagle Scout in his Boy Scout Troop 87. Farkas has also been involved in community service most of his life. He has traveled to the Bahamas five times over his summers to do mission work, and has also done work in Ocean Grove and Whiting. He also earned his 2nd degree Adult Black Sash in Kung Fu in 2014. Farkas is one of approximately 4 percent of all Boy Scouts who attain the Eagle rank.
