Venetta Ellerbe has been appointed the new CEO of Meals on Wheels of Mercer County by the MOWMC board of trustees.
“(Ellerbe) brings more than 20 years of experience within New Jersey’s nonprofit sector, in roles that highlighted her skills in leadership, operations management, fundraising and strategic planning,” board chair David Dafilou said in a media release.
Ellerbe joins MOWMC having most recently served as interim CEO at Several Sources Shelter in Ramsey. A longtime resident of Somerset, she has served as director of major gifts at Ramapo College, director of development at Unified Vailsburg Services Organization and director of special events and Annual Giving at Middlesex County College Foundation.
Ellerbe has also been an instructor at Union County College. Ellerbe holds a masters degree in public service leadership in nonprofit management from Thomas Edison State University.
Ellerbe said that she is eager to get started. “My background in fundraising and strategic development can help strengthen what is already in place and open new opportunities for growth,” Ellerbe said.
Ellerbe began her tenure on March 17, 2025.
