Casey Navarro, a 23-year-old from Hamilton, was killed in a motorcycle crash on Quakerbridge Road near Youngs Road on April 9, according to the Hamilton Township Police Division.
Navarro was a 2019 graduate of Steinert High School and a noted pitcher for the high school’s baseball team as well as for the Hamilton Post 31 American Legion Baseball team.
Police said that an investigation at the scene showed that an Navarro was riding a 2014 Honda CBR northbound in the exterior right lane when he struck the rear driver’s side corner of a 2016 Mercedes GLA driven by Karina Sivokas, 47, of Bayville. The crash occurred around 2:33 p.m.
Sivokas was also traveling northbound in the same lane, positioned in front of the motorcycle. After the impact, Navarro was ejected and came to rest in the interior northbound lane. The Mercedes left the road and came to a stop on the lawn of a nearby home.
Navarro was transported by ambulance to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries, police said. No other injuries were reported.
Emergency Medical Services, the Hamilton Township Fire Division and the Mercer County Department of Transportation responded to the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by Officer C. Vitoritt of the Hamilton Police Traffic Unit. Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to call the Hamilton Police Traffic Unit at (609) 581-4000.
