A Trenton man has been arrested and charged with possession of child sexual abuse material following an investigation by the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Unit, authorities announced.
Upton Fink, 76, was charged with one count of third-degree possession of child sexual abuse material. The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office has filed a motion to detain him pending trial.
Detectives began investigating after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children indicating that someone in Mercer County had uploaded multiple files of suspected CSAM to the internet. The investigation led authorities to Fink, officials said.
On Tuesday, April 8, members of the ICAC Unit, with assistance from the New Jersey State Parole Board, N.J. State Police and the Mercer County Tactical Response Team, executed a search warrant at Fink’s home on Arlington Avenue in Trenton.
Authorities seized multiple items of evidentiary value during the search. Fink was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Mercer County Correction Center.
Third-degree crimes in New Jersey carry a potential prison sentence of three to five years and a fine of up to $15,000.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the ICAC Unit at (609) 989-6568 or email mcposvu@mercercounty.org.
