The Mercer County Opioid Settlement Advisory Council is seeking public input on how to use funds from national opioid litigation settlements aimed at combating the opioid epidemic and expanding access to treatment and prevention resources across the county.
Residents are encouraged to complete a brief online survey to help guide funding priorities.
The survey is open to all Mercer County residents and individuals who serve county communities. It can be accessed at mercercounty.org/osfsurvey or by scanning the QR code found in the image above.
Mercer County Executive Dan Benson and the Board of County Commissioners are urging residents to participate.
The Opioid Settlement Advisory Council was established under a 2022 Memorandum of Agreement between the State of New Jersey and local governments regarding how opioid litigation recoveries are allocated.
The council’s mission is to advise county and municipal leaders on how to effectively use these funds to reduce harm and improve services for individuals impacted by opioid use disorder (OUD) and substance use disorder (SUD).
Earlier this year, the council hosted a community listening session at the Mercer County Office Park in Ewing to engage directly with residents. The meeting allowed the public to offer feedback on the distribution of funds and learn more about the council’s work in partnership with local, county, state and federal agencies.
“The Opioid Settlement Advisory Council is seeking public input from Mercer County residents or those serving Mercer County residents on how these funds should be used,” the county said in its announcement.
The council continues to gather community input as it identifies high-priority needs, advises on programming, and works to expand access to prevention, treatment, recovery, and harm-reduction services.
