Tori Hart was been appointed as the new assistant principal of Lawrence Intermediate School, effective July 15.
The Lawrence Township Board of Education officially approved Hart’s appointment during its July 9 meeting. She will join the LIS administrative team after more than a decade of service to the school district.
Hart has spent the past 14 years as a teacher and House Leader in Lawrence Township Public Schools.
In that time, she has been recognized for her leadership in promoting restorative practices and building an inclusive school culture. She has also helped design professional learning sessions for staff focused on student connection and school climate.
Among her past initiatives are events aimed at community building, including LIS Wellness Day and LIS Shines Day. She also helped establish Circle Keepers, a student-led group that facilitates restorative circles to support peer relationships.
District officials described Hart’s work as focused on fostering a school environment where students feel safe, valued and supported.
“Ms. Hart genuinely values the relationships she’s built with the LIS team over the years,” said a post on the district’s website. “As she steps into this new role, she is proud to continue to work alongside colleagues who are so deeply committed to students and is excited to grow and lead within such a supportive and inspiring school community.”
