YWCA Princeton has two new members in its executive leadership team.
Dennis Washington has joined the staff as the chief advancement officer, and Valencia Petion is the new chief human resources officer.
Washington has over 25 years of leadership experience in education, government, and nonprofit management across multiple states, most recently at Drexel University raising funds for St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. Washington has a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor’s degree from Oakland University in Michigan.
YWCA Princeton says that as chief advancement Officer, Washington will be spearheading the organization’s growth, leading fundraising initiatives and strengthening strategic partnerships.
“I am thrilled to welcome Dennis to our team,” said YWCA Princeton CEO Rose Wong. “His experience in managing capital campaigns and fundraising for higher education institutions will prove invaluable as we expand our reach and impact of the organization.”
While the organization has experienced a loss in federal funding, Wong said that she remains optimistic that Washington’s track record in securing grants and philanthropic engagement will drive new opportunities and ensure the continued success of YWCA Princeton’s life-changing programs.
Petion has over 10 years of strategic Human Resource experience across nonprofit and corporate sectors. Fluent in English, French, and Haitian Creole, Petion holds a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Empire College and is currently pursuing her master’s degree at Thomas Edison State University.
Washington and Petion join Rose Wong, chief executive officer; Tricia Daley, chief finance officer; and Tara O’Shea, chief operating officer, as members of YWCA Princeton’s five-person executive leadership team.
