The Boys and Girls Clubs of Mercer County plans to host its 9th annual Run for Club Kids on Nov. 1, bringing together runners, walkers and community members to raise funds for youth programs.
Each year, the Boys & Girls Clubs partners with Princeton Child Development Institute by Running for Club Kids at Meadows Miler. Together the organizations share the goal of creating an environment of inclusion and acceptance while raising funds to empower youth.
Scheduled activities include a 1-mile fun run, 5K and 10K races. A children’s activity zone, vendor booths and food from local businesses will also be offered.
Reginald J. Coleman, chief executive officer of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Mercer County, said the fundraiser helps support after-school and teen programs that focus on academics, mentoring, college and career readiness, and health and wellness. The organization reports serving more than 700 young people annually across Mercer County.
Check-in will begin at 8 a.m., with the first race starting at 9 a.m. Registration is available online, and virtual participation is an option for those who prefer to take part remotely.
All participants will receive a race T-shirt, and top fundraisers will earn additional prizes. Organizers say that proceeds will support Boys & Girls Clubs programs.
