There’s a new stop for breakfast and lunch in Ewing Township, and it’s already giving the neighborhood something to smile about.

Ewing Bagel Shop, located at 195 Scotch Road, has opened its doors with a promise of freshly baked bagels, hearty sandwiches and the kind of friendly service that makes you feel like a regular on your first visit.

The locally owned shop occupies the same space that once housed All-Star Bagel & Grill, a former staple in the Scotch Road Plaza.

The new owners have carried forward the community spirit of the old spot while bringing their own fresh take to the menu and experience.

Freshly made, every morning

According to the shop’s website, every bagel is baked on site each morning, and the team takes pride in serving breakfast “made from wholesome ingredients with a friendly smile.”

The menu features 19 bagel varieties, house-made spreads, and classic breakfast sandwiches that range from simple egg and cheese to stacked specialties like the “Honey Bird,” which pairs chicken sausage, Vermont cheddar and hot honey on a biscuit.

For lunch, the shop offers hearty sandwiches such as “Jimmy’s Club,” “The Jersey Boy,” and the “South St. Philly,” a nod to the region’s love of cheesesteaks.

Customers can round out their meal with sides, fresh-squeezed orange juice or a cup of coffee. Online ordering is available through Grubhub and other delivery platforms.

A neighborhood focus

While the bagels are the star of the show, the owners make clear that the shop’s mission is as much about community as it is about food.

Their website says it simply: “Good mornings start with community.” That sentiment is reflected in touches like a 10 percent student discount for anyone showing a valid college ID.

The shop’s bright interior, approachable menu and welcoming staff have already drawn praise from local customers, who have shared positive reviews on social media describing the bagels as “soft on the inside” and the service as “outstanding.”

Carrying on a local tradition

Ewing Bagel Shop sits in the heart of the Scotch Road Plaza, a retail strip not far from Capital Health and the Merrill Lynch complex — a convenient stop for morning commuters and lunchtime regulars alike.

Before Ewing Bagel Shop opened, the address was home to All-Star Bagel & Grill, a familiar name to many residents who have been grabbing breakfast there for years.

With the new ownership, the space has been re-energized while retaining its neighborhood feel. The menu is broader, the flavors a little bolder, but the goal is the same — to offer a reliable, local spot for good food and friendly faces.

Ewing Bagel Shop is open daily from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information or to order online, visit ewingbagelshop.com.
