Westminster Conservatory at Nassau will present a recital of opera and operetta music arranged for duo and solo piano on Thursday, Jan. 16, at 12:15 p.m.
The performance, titled The Poetry of Opera and Operetta: Emotions in Every Note, will feature Conservatory faculty members Galina Prilutskaya and Inessa Gleyzerova Shindel.
The free recital will take place at the Niles Chapel of Nassau Presbyterian Church, located at 61 Nassau Street in Princeton. The program promises to highlight the emotional depth and beauty of well-known opera and operetta works through the intimate setting of piano arrangements.
Prilutskaya, a renowned soloist and accompanist, has performed across the U.S., Germany, and Russia. Her past performances include appearances at Richardson Auditorium in Princeton, the Moscow Conservatory, and the Liszt School of Music. Prilutskaya is also a dedicated educator whose students have earned numerous accolades for their piano skills.
Gleyzerova Shindel, a Belarusian-born pianist with a master’s degree from the Belorussian Academy of Music, has performed in prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall and Merkin Concert Hall. She is also an artistic director for the Music-Fest Rising Talents Festival and teaches at Westminster Conservatory.
This event is made possible in part by the Mercer County Cultural and Heritage Commission, with funding from the Mercer County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.
The recital is part of Westminster Conservatory’s ongoing series of performances, with another recital scheduled for February 20 featuring the Volanti Flute Quartet
Founded in 1970, Westminster Conservatory is the community music school of Rider University. It serves students of all ages and skill levels, offering individual lessons and ensemble opportunities in a wide range of musical disciplines. The Conservatory is a nationally recognized institution and is a member of the National Guild for Community Arts Education.
