Lawrence High School is gearing up for the 2024-2025 academic year, with the first day of school just under a week away.

Over the past week, LHS hosted a freshman orientation, welcomed new faculty and staff, and held an annual meeting for 12th graders to prepare for the upcoming year.

Announcements

Schedules Now Available: Student schedules and bus passes are now accessible through the Genesis Parent Portal. Students experiencing issues with their schedules are advised to contact their school counselors, while transportation concerns should be directed to the transportation office at 609-671-5445.

Cell Phone Policy: LHS has updated its cell phone policy for the 2024-2025 school year to reduce classroom distractions. The school district’s press release provides additional details, and parents with questions are encouraged to contact school administrators.

Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees: The LHS Athletic Hall of Fame has announced its 2024 inductees. The honorees include Kelly Shillaber Brown, Brian Murphy, Joe Bembry, Daphne Ginn Upshaw, John Cannon Sr., Mary Snedeker, Anthony Swale, Kristin Sosinski Ensley, Ferdie Reeves, the 1971-1972 Boys’ Basketball Team, Matthew Russ, and Coach Keith Fithen.

The inductees will be recognized before the home football game on Sept. 27 at 5:45 p.m., followed by a banquet in the LHS Commons. Tickets for the banquet are available for $25 each.

New Assistant Principal: LHS is welcoming Dr. Katie Stein as the new assistant principal, filling the position previously held by Dr. Bariexca, who is now the district’s K-6 Supervisor of Math and Science.

Upcoming Events

The first day of school is Thursday, Sept. 5, with a full day for students and staff. The day will follow a “modified” A Day schedule, while Friday, Sept. 6, will follow a “modified” B Day schedule. The regular bell schedule for the year is available on the LHS website.

Football Entry Guidelines: Students attending football games must present their school ID or Genesis account for entry. Middle school-aged students and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Admission is $2 for students and senior citizens and $3 for adults. The first home game is scheduled for Friday, August 30, at 7:00 p.m. against Princeton High School.

The LMS/LHS PTO is holding a flower bulb fundraiser, which includes a variety of items such as indoor herb kits and terracotta kits. The sale runs until Sept. 25, with all items shipped directly to customers within the continental U.S. Purchases can be made online through the fundraiser’s website.
