The Ewing Township Health Department is encouraging all township residents to take advantage of free flu shots in preparation for the upcoming 2024 flu season.
The free flu shot clinics are exclusively available to Ewing residents and will help protect the community from influenza while reducing the risk of flu-related hospitalizations, missed work or school, and visits to healthcare providers.
Health officials stress the importance of getting vaccinated not only to protect oneself from infection but also to reduce the spread of the virus, particularly among vulnerable populations.
The flu vaccine is recommended for all individuals aged 6 months and older, with rare exceptions, and is required for children attending nursery school or daycare between the ages of 6 months and 5 years.
Residents are advised to postpone their vaccination if they are feeling ill or have a fever.
