The Plainsboro Fire District will hold its annual election on Saturday, Feb. 16.
During the election voters will have an opportunity to vote on the fire district budget and elect two candidates to the Plainsboro Board of Fire Commissioners.
This year’s budget is $2.14 million, a decrease over the 2018 budget, which was $3.28 million and included a capital expansion program for the fire station.
The fire district tax rate, which has not increased in several years, will remain at 5 cents per $100 of assessed valuation.
Running for election to two three-year seats on the Board of Commissioners are Michele Holder Myers of Fox Run Drive and incumbents Michael Ruskuski of Ravens Crest Drive and Ted Wagner of Linden Lane.

“As a commissioner, I have led a number of efforts to support high quality fire protection in Plainsboro and ensure that those efforts have been cost-effective and responsive to taxpayer needs,” said Wagner. “These include apparatus replacement and building enhancement programs that have kept us a top firefighting organization, but we have also maintained tax stability. We have not raised the fire tax in more than a decade.”
Said Ruskuski: “I offer the citizens of Plainsboro a commitment to continuing the excellent fire protection services that they have received for more than 50 years… During the past few years, we have been taking the steps to plan for the future of fire protection in Plainsboro. I believe that my experience and expertise will contribute to a safe community.”
The election will be held from 2 to to 9 p.m. at the Plainsboro Fire Company firehouse at 405 Plainsboro Road.
