The action starts in France, moves to Italian battlefields, returns to Paris, and involves unrequited love, a disowned child, a faked death, and — finally — a happy ending. The play is Shakespeare’s “All’s Well That Ends Well,” and Princeton audiences can take it all in, free of charge, at the Community Park North amphitheater on Sunday, July 8, at 6 p.m.
The performance is the second of two Princeton appearances this summer by the Hudson Shakespeare Company, which presented “The Tempest” in June. The company, founded in 1992, features young actors from throughout the tri-state area and presents a free Shakespeare festival of outdoor performances each summer.
The performance moves to Princeton Public Library’s community room in case of inclement weather.

The amphitheater will also play host to two outdoor performances put on by Blue Curtain, a nonprofit dedicated to offering free concerts in the Princeton area. This summer’s offerings have a distinctively international flair, and the two scheduled concerts combine music from Eastern and Western traditions.
On Saturday, July 14, Pradhanica Dance and Music showcases Kathak, an Indian classical dance form, while Leonardo Suarez Paz leads the Cuartetenago string quartet in tango and banondeon music from his native Argentina.
On Saturday, July 21, the Iberi Choir demonstrates the Republic of Georgia’s unique choral tradition, and Lakou Mizik brings Haitian roots music to the Princeton stage. Both concerts are free and start at 7 p.m.
