Hundreds of people gathered in Princeton over the weekend for the Families Belong Together rally. It was one of many marches held across the nation.
Robt Seda-Schreiber, chief activist at the Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice, said that more than 800 people attended the Princeton rally on Saturday. It was one of the largest rallies in New Jersey.
“So many diverse folks from across our state gathered together to protect, respect and love all our children, all our families, all our people,” Seda-Schreiber said in a statement.
Families Belong Together rallies and marches were held all across the nation on June 30 to protest President Donald Trump’s immigration policies. Marchers called for the government to reunite families that were separated the border.
