The Ewing Arts Commission is teaming with the Trenton Elks to host a Student Art Show Jan. 28 from 1 to 4 p.m. to showcase the artwork of Ewing’s youth. The show will be held at the Elks Lodge, 42 Decou Ave., Ewing.
“The student artists in our community are as talented as they are diverse,” EAC chair Mel Antler said. “We are thrilled to showcase their work at this show.”
Local residents and community members will have an opportunity to view the student work and enjoy music provided by the Trenton Elks. A second Meet the Artist Reception will also be held at the Ewing Township Municipal Building on Feb. 21 at 6 p.m.
The student art will include a number of mediums such as drawing, oil and acrylic paintings, computer-based work and clay sculptures. The show is unique in Ewing as it is the only venue that is open to any K-12 youth who resides in Ewing.
Students interested in participating have until Jan. 19 at 4 p.m. to enter artwork. Entries can be delivered to the Trenton Elks Lodge. There is no limitation to size or medium or art submitted — 2D and 3D work will be accepted. There is also no limit to the number of submissions each student artist can enter. However, each piece must be accompanied by a separate entry form.
“Showcasing the work of local students is essential to our mission at the Elks,” Trenton Elks Grant Coordinator Jim Castelize, III said. “We are pleased to partner with the Ewing Arts Commission for this and future shows.”
