The new BSB Gallery in the former Broad Street Bank building at 143 East State Street is up and running with the exhibition “The Influence of Women.”
On view Thursdays through Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., it features work by seven prominent artists living or contributing to the arts in Trenton: Tamara Torres, Kate Graves, Aylin Green, Alia Bensliman, Jessie Vincent, Lori Johansson, and Leticia Acevedo.
The exhibition includes painting, photography, sculpture, and a film and object installation inside one of the bank’s old vaults.
Trenton Downtown Association project coordinator Meaghan Singletary and Trenton artist Craig Shofed are the curators.
On Saturday, March 17, the participating artists join forces at 3 p.m. to discuss their work and ideas. The event is free.
Located in Trenton’s new Creek to Canal Creative District, the gallery is located in an historic early 20th century “sky scraper.” It is a project of the Trenton Downtown Association and funded by the George H. and Estelle M. Sands Foundation and by Isles with support from the New Jersey Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit Program.
