April 14 marks Healthy Kids Day, a national initiative to improve the health and well-being of youth, and the Trenton YMCA wants to help celebrate. The Trenton Y will host a Healthy Kids Day event on the campus of Rider University from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 14, 2018. This year’s theme is “Awaken Summer Imagination.”
The day will feature a rock wall, bounce house, healthy snacks, a balloon sculptor, fitness demonstrations and a variety of physical activities. Trenton YMCA staff will be available to promote active living. Local vendors will be on hand to provide information about how and where the community can find resources that promote education and healthy living geared toward younger kids. Last year, more than 150 volunteers, 35 vendors and over 700 visitors attended the Healthy Kids Day celebration in Trenton.
Healthy Kids Day is the YMCA’s public health initiative that aims to make healthy living a reality for millions of Americans. It is a free community event for kids and families, and its primary focus is to get kids more active and engaged in learning so they can maintain healthy habits and academic skills to achieve goals and reach their full potential.
