Food for Thought: Salt Creek Grille names new head chef

Salt Creek Grille in Princeton Forrestal Village has named Scott Swiderski as its new executive chef.

Swiderski replaces Dan Luber and is the restaurant’s third new chef since the departure of Fabian Quiros in 2015.

A Sayreville native, Swiderski studied culinary arts at Johnson & Wales University, graduating in 1983. He has previously worked at restaurants in Philadelphia and Florida and was executive chef at Grounds For Sculpture’s Rat’s restaurant in 2014 and 2015.

More ramen, more Thai

If you blinked you probably missed it: after a brief closure, short-lived Edo Ramen at 32 Witherspoon Street has changed hands and reopened as Purinsu Ramen. While the name is new, the menu is largely unchanged: salads and appetizer dumplings are $5 to $6; assorted ramen dishes are $13 to $14. 609-688-8988.

At 160 Nassau Street, Lil Thai Pin has replaced the equally short-lived Habin Chicken, a Korean fried chicken spot. The small space is an expansion of the Thai Pin restaurant in Lawrenceville and serves classic curry and noodle dishes for lunch and dinner seven days a week. 609-279-9000.
