West Windsor Township has been awarded $1.55 million open space preservation grants from the Mercer County Open Space Grants Program.
The township will receive $450,000 for the acquisition of the 96-acre 217 North Post Road and $600,000 for the 122.3-acre Hall property at 229 Village Road East.
In addition, the state Department of Environmental Protection has approved $500,000 in Green Acres funds for open space preservation.
“We are grateful to the N.J. DEP Green Acres Program and Mercer County for assisting West Windsor in the preservation of so much open space,” said Mayor Hemant Marathe. “The preserved open space helps us to control growth and contributes to the quality of life for all West Windsor residents.”
